Relfection on Purpose

"He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself. "

Even the Trees Are Cold

Even the trees are cold on this sunny but chilly January day.

January 2, 2009

I took the Christmas Tree to the Public Works drop off point and spotted this tractor and was thinking that it is the ultimate snowshovel. Sometimes bigger really is better.

That's not the case in the Federal government though, bigger just means costlier and slower.

New Year's Day 2009

This is the first post of the year, hopefully I'll get a picture in here every day for the whole year.  This was taken at the Beltline Bar in Grand Rapids, MI, one of our favorite restaurants.

I would love to make some predictions for the coming year, but I'll probably come out looking goofy when the year ends. That has never stopped me before though, so here goes nothing:

  • America will not still be in love with Obama.
  • Blago who?
  • Russia will have maneuvered itself to further oppress the former Soviet Union countries such as Georgia.
  • Islamic Terrorists will not be any less a threat to us than they are today.
Happy New Year everyone!
